IMPORTANT UPDATE!

As of January 1, 2022, SRS Consultants Inc., will no longer be providing the services of day-to-day practice in Occupational Medicine, which includes case management, pre-placement medical examinations, and medical surveillance programs.

SRS Consultants Inc. continues to perform Medical Examinations for Transport Canada Medical Certificates (Aviation and Marine) and Ministry of Transportation Commercial Licences on a limited basis; though we reserve the right to discontinue this service at any time.

Dr. Sidney Siu will still be providing consultations on pandemic policies, as well as in emergency occupational or environmental exposures for previous clients; however, SRS Consultants Inc. is no longer accepting any new clients, patients, or OHIP referrals.

About Dr. Sidney R. Siu

Dr. Sidney R. Siu, MD, MPH, FRCPC, ABOM, FCBOM, FACOEM, DABOT, CIME, CIH, P.Eng., CAME, MME, BASc, DIH, FAIHA

Dr. Siu has a BSc in chemical engineering and worked as a professional engineer in the petrochemical industry before completing his medical degree at the University of Toronto in 1982. He went on to obtain an FRCPC in occupational medicine. He is a Certified Toxicologist by the American Board of Toxicology and a Certified Industrial Hygienist. He is a fellow of the American Industrial Hygiene Association and active in the Emergency Response Planning Guideline Committee. He is currently a member of the BioAerosols Working Group (BAWG) with the Canadian Standards Association for the Respirator Selection Guidelines (CAN/CSA- Z94.4).

He was the medical consultant at the Ministry of Labour for 13 years and spent over 35 years providing consultations and expert opinions to industry, workers, law enforcement agencies, compensation boards, universities, hospitals, and lawyers.

He served as the chair of the Occupational Health Section of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) (2002-2004), during which time, he was heavily involved with pandemic planning related to SARS and was recently awarded a lifetime membership by the OMA. He was the president of the Occupational and Environmental Association of Canada (OEMAC) from 2014-2015 and is currently a board member of the Canadian Board of Occupational Medicine (CBOM) and member of the Occupational Medicine Society of Canada (OMSOC.)

He is an adjunct professor at Western University and a tutor for the Foundation Course in Occupational Medicine at the University of Alberta. He is also extensively involved with planning and consultations for the current COVID-19 pandemic at hospitals and universities.

In his free time, Dr. Siu also acts as a Coroner for the Province of Ontario.
